During my penultimate semester at USC, I wanted to learn a new skill that didn’t immediately pertain to academics or my design career. Learning how to throw on a potter’s wheel was a slow and painful challenge at first, but I have grown to love the meditative and independent dedication that comes with creating forms. I am continuing my ceramic studies into my last semester of school; I will pursue an Independent Study under the guidance of my professor, Thomas Muller, on the tactile and cultural characteristics of dishes that are used to serve traditional Korean meals. Below are some examples of ceramic pieces I’ve created throughout this semester.
